Project Summary: Chillermen and Fisair Integrated System

Overview

Koch Applied Solutions recently supported a project integrating Chillermen and Fisair equipment to deliver precise temperature and humidity control in a high-performance indoor environment. The system was designed for 65–67°F space temperature and 20% RH, providing exceptional environmental stability for process-sensitive applications.

System Configuration

  • Air System: Fisair 11,400 CFM dehumidification unit
  • Cooling System: 50-ton Chillermen water-source indoor condenser
  • Integration: Chillermen I/O routed to a Fisair terminal strip, custom-configured for:

    • Entering and Leaving Water Temperature (EWT/LWT)
    • Compressor 1 / Compressor 2
    • General alarm monitoring
  • Control Interface: The Fisair touchscreen allows simple, direct adjustment of Airflow, Leaving Air Temperature (LAT), and Relative Humidity (RH) setpoints.

Implementation Notes

  • All I/O connections were fully custom-engineered for this installation, providing seamless control and monitoring between the two systems.
  • IOM documentation (Installation, Operation & Maintenance manuals) from both manufacturers served as excellent reference materials throughout setup and commissioning.
  • The startup was successful, with no operational issues reported — the only correction required was the addition of a relief bypass that had been omitted from the contractor’s piping.

Outcome

This project showcases Koch Applied Solutions’ ability to integrate multi-manufacturer systems for precise thermal and humidity control. The result was a clean, reliable, and efficient installation that met all environmental performance goals on the first startup.
